Watercolor and photography
When Sharyn Kastner Danielson, Napa resident since 1997, was first introduced to watercolor in college, she was taught en plein aire, which means in the open air. Since then she can't seem to execute it any other way. As the light changes quickly out of doors, watercolor's spontaneity lends itself well to this venue. Her other love, photography, captures that special moment. She is a lover of the out-of-doors. No wonder these two mediums claim her creative instincts.
As Sharyn writes, "Plein air is the preferred painting venue; it's all about enjoying the medium wherever it's preformed."
Sharyn is also the organizer of Plein Air painting for the Napa Valley Art Association. Locations, dates and times will be announced via e-mail. Contact [email protected]
if you're not already on the list. Location ideas and /or ideas/or appointments are welcome. In addition, everyone is welcome to join studio painting at the Behrens St building Fridays 1-3 pm.
