ARTIST CALL FOR INSTALLATION OF 2D EXHIBIT AT WESTIN VERASA
2018-04-23

Artist Call for Installation of 2D Exhibit at Westin Verasa

We are asking for proposals for a 90 day installation at the Westin Verasa Napa. The Westin is one of our rotating exhibit venues. This is an excellent place to exhibit your work as it will be located in a heavily trafficked area off the main lobby. The lighting is very nice and the hotel has installed a gallery hanging system. The exhibit typically holds 10-12 pieces, perhaps more, depending upon the size of the individual works of art. Maggy Walton is currently exhibiting in the space and will be up until mid-May.

The Westin has suggested art that celebrates music as the upcoming exhibit will span Bottle Rock and the Jazz Festival. If any individual artist does not have sufficient inventory to cover this theme, please consider partnering or possibly forming a group. If we cannot find a way to accommodate the venue with the desired theme by April 1, we will reassess the situation and go with a single artist without a theme.

The venue has offered to prepare the title/price tags and a bio, with information submitted by the artist. Hanging assistance will also be available. Sales will be handled by the artist with 10% commission to the AANV.

Interested artists should contact Exhibit Chair Geoff Hansen at 530-410-7136 or by email at [email protected]

This is an excellent opportunity to have your work displayed in a high traffic upscale venue and we look forward to receiving proposals. If multiple artists respond, we will be establishing a wait list with specific schedules into the futur

ARTS IN APRIL AT AGNV
2017-04-01

Subject: Arts in April (AiA), Art Gallery Napa Valley participation 2017

Event meeting last night with the Arts Council regarding the AiA event brought in over thirty Napa area artists, including three from AGNV.
After a 1 ? hour high energy brainstorming meeting, events are coalescing for a fantastic weekend of the arts in Napa during April 29-30. During April, every weekend there will be some form of the arts in a different community throughout the valley.

For now, Debbie Ames has taken the lead to organize our gallery artists. I will continue to represent the Art Association Board’s Educational Outreach and will be assisting Debbie Ames with marketing. Terry Kent has opted to take the year off.

We are looking for six or more artists from different mediums to be on this committee. Our first meeting will be next week to brainstorm what the gallery can do and what is happening in the other communities. Debbie is available next week between 11-4 and 7-9 most days.  This is an AiA event committee only. Our main weekend is April 29-30, but we can do events the other weekends as well and even call April our Re Grand Opening month.

Anyone interested please email me and let me know what your preferred day and time for a short fun meeting. We have Arts Council’s publicity deadlines: Participation 1/25 and all press information regarding the gallery 2/9.
Minimum requirements are positive energy and a desire to showcase our beautiful gallery.

Looking forward to working together,

Greg Wright, Art Association Board member
